Local skateboarding legend talks about his skate shop, G-Hard Pro Shop.
Mention the name Joe Ipoh and almost every skater would immediately know who you’re talking about. He’s a local legend who is known for representing Malaysia in the first ever Asian X-Games back in 1999 as well as partaking in the Asian X-Games in Phuket and won a place in the podium.
With over 20 years of skateboarding experience and great efforts in growing the scene since the 90s, Joe has definitely made himself a household icon. He now runs his own skate shop, G-Hard, and his own brand of decks.
We speak to him on his current efforts of giving back to the skate-community through various projects like skate lessons and building skate ramps for various events, and how running G-Hard is a way for him to support the growth of our local skate scene.
Years in operation: 1 year
Location: Kiosk 1, Kompleks Sukan Bukit Kiara, Kuala Lumpur
Shop specialty: Apart from skateboard products, skate lessons and custom skate obstacle building services are also provided
Red Bull stands by the belief that local skate shops deserve our support because it is the only way we can keep all the skateboarders united in the skate scene, which will help keep the scene alive and growing.
And we agree.
